"I Forget the Date was the first piece I wrote after taking 6 months off composing to travel Europe and live in Norway taking courses on ethnomusicology and Hinduism, studying art, sleeping on couches, finding cheap hostels, having stimulating conversations with complete strangers while trying to navigate the fine-line of intoxication and language barriers. This experience ranks as one of the highlights in my life, and although I generally consider my music absolute in nature, this piece takes me back to Scandinavia. Hearing it I smell the rain, hear the trees, and see the mountains around me. This piece fills me with wanderlust, and a deep nostalgic return to the places I consider my home away from home."

"Kory Reeder is a graduate composer at Bowling Green State University. Kory is interested in creating music that retains a meditative and atmospheric quality. Recently, Kory’s work has been focused on durations and proportions of time, particularly working in extended pieces such as his hour long ‘Liturgy’ for choir, percussion quartet, and string quartet, as well as the commissioning of the hour long “Summer” for solo piano to be premiered early 2017. Additionally, Kory’s work experiments with techniques found in other arts and how they may be incorporated with music structurally. Kory has also frequently collaborated with theater and dance programs, writing incidental music for Greek Classics as well as modern masterpieces.
